GEORGE AND PAVAROTTI (cont'd)

Pavarotti was scheduled to perform again in some of the next season's (1984) operas at the San Francisco Opera House, so George Sr. contacted Gerrit again, and asked if he would forward another letter. George Sr. told more about his son and asked if he could possibly meet the tenor after one of the shows. Pavarotti again sent a hand-typed reply:

"Dear Mr. Koch,
It was an enormous pleasure to receive your delightful letter about your son, George. He is, of course, more than a little unusual, and I would be pleased to meet him and his parents after a performance backstage. Grazie for taking the time to write.
Best wishes,
Luciano Pavarotti"

So in 1984, after one of the shows, George Sr. and George were shown backstage to Pavarotti's dressing room. At the time, George was 2 1/2 years old. George was, naturally, elated to meet his favorite singer. George's father took a photo while the famous tenor kissed George on the forehead.
